Can't wait to see your Halloween-y entries. It's my #1 most anticipated holiday. (I have no photos to celebrate with this year, since they are all still safely stored north of my scanner.) We walked around the neigborhood late last night. Even with power restored weeks ago, it was stumbling dark...so many street lights not yet repaired. The sound of the wind, as we walked playing at spooking each other, made us look up at the treetops. But so many of the tall pines had none, hacked off mid way up by Katrina. We walked faster, thinking of headless horsemen and the silenced branches, still in high piles lining every street. We nervously giggled and murmured how pleased we were to find that being scared could still be so much fun.

I love that I can totally hear your voices reading this lamecore conversation. I also love that I'd have a similarly lamecore conversation at my house. We should, like, get together and play cranium and drink pinot noir and be lamecore. Except for, you know, the minor issue of distance. Isn't it weird how tuned into weather grownups get? I think I was probably -- well hell, I think it was probably only a couple years ago I even began to care. So I could lay out little clothes and mitties n' shit. But as a kid? I didn't have a clue, and each day was like a meteorological suprise. I think I liked it better that way.

Oh -- oh... and also, love your new banner (I seeee yooooo), can't wait to see what you have up your batwing sleeve this week. Wish I had your mad art skillz for pumpkin carving. Lastly, T's all "did she answer back yet? Does she want one?? Cuz like I have to make sure I save enough sculpey for her..." I told her grownups have better things to do than fling e-mails back the nanosecond they receive them, unlike 11-year-olds. So she stopped bouncing on her feet for awhile and sighed, rolled her eyes and dropped dramatically to the floor asking me why has nobody invented an age-reversing serum so she doesn't have to become a boring adult.

Your new banner is so cool - I have a bad case of blog envy now! I had a photo all painted to go for Halloween & I somehow have lost the ability to post photos to my blog now (whine, sob, sniffle) Someday I hope to have enough know-how to fix these things & do all the cool stuff you do! But for now I can only sit here all pea green with envy (which is not a good color on me)lol. Can't wait to see what other cool stuff you'll have for Halloween :>)

Spooky ooky! Finn looks ALL wolf in that one. I expect her to leap out of the banner and CHOMP someone! :)

Love the new banner. And I'm incredibly impressed with your ability to hold a more or less coherent conversation the moment you wake up.

O, thanks you guys! If you like the banner, you're gonna love the "advent calendar"! O... the magic of Photoshop. I just wanted to point out for those of you who do not know, Melinda ( first comment above: http://meism.diaryland.com/ ) collects the most fabulous vintage photos and survived Hurrican Katrina (She lives in New Orleans). Check out her photos... you won't be disappointed. They are one of my favourite sources of inspiration.

Suddenly I miss having the weather channel very very much. Can I come watch at your house? ;) I like your banner! It's very festive. I bought licorice for my trick-or-treaters, but that's as far as I've gotten.

*sigh* I had been waiting and WAITING for the new banner and it SO delivered!!! *experiencing intense satisfaction* And, you and HG put the fun in funny.

You know what? I didn't even see your face in your banner on my monitor at work!! I only saw the spooky hand. It just startled the hell out of me when I clicked on it from my computer at home. You're a little witchy-poo!

wee - 2005-10-24 12:44:38
BOO! said the witchy-poo! hee, I know. It will read differently on different monitors (also from browser to browser) depending on how it is calibrated. Most of the time, that's something that makes me nuts... especially when trying to find the right level of contrast to show my art. But in this case, it kinda works to my advantage. But if you don't mind... do tell me how well the Halloween images I'll be showing you in the next week appear to you... i'm trying to get a fix on what looks best for my "professional" portfolio.

I love the new banner, too, Wee. So spooky and Halloweeny. Interesting weather report story, too...we in the West never say 'wicked'...it's such an Easternism...lol...

You little minx... what a seductive little shot of you half hidden in your banner. Very femme fatale/coy wee. Looking forward to the upcoming posts!

The new banner is really yummy and I saw you in it right away! And the Wolf, of course. And hooray, tomorrow is Wednesday so I don't have to wait long for your Halloween trickery. Last night I bought three bags of Halloween candy, and it made me feel like such an old married lady. I don't think I've ever bought Halloween candy - but Easter candy, oh let's not bring that up. And you and the Handsome One, would fit right in with your lamecore selves round here - the Weather Channel does have some interesting tunes!
