Hoooo Weeeee! I love everything about this Flossy gal and your drawing. I love her steadfast pose...and the severity of her hair and shoes. This is really excellent.

Cin - 2005-07-12 23:35:19
glorious Wee, both your writing and drawing, simply glorious !

Laura - 2005-07-13 00:27:40
Ditto. I am inspired.

I'm facinated as to how Flossy's doo dominates your world! Hee! Uhm...Wee...What about the Art museum...? Any impressions on the art? Well, your entry would make a great read for the museum folks there. I must say one of my thoughts was to get this blog entry under their (the museum's) nose. Great pic to accompany your story, btw! Oh, and no pictures of your shredded legs, please. However, may they feel better soon. : )

She's fantastic, and what a description!

wendy - 2005-07-13 07:31:54
I love your illustration. She is awesome! What section does Flossy work in? I might have to go take some peeks at her!!

Creative take on the subject. In fact super duper. It's always a delight when participate in IF.

Rebeccashane - 2005-07-13 09:21:14
OMG.. this is do dead on.. right when you dont expect them.. they pop out of the corners of the museum. HAHAHA. One hint* Dali's are small but dont get too close to look cause they will shout out "STEP AWAY FROM THE WORK...STEP BACK" and everyone in this ultra white library silent room turns to stare at what crime you just commited. :O) If I could only learn how NOT to blush, that would be great. BTW.. What were the Doozers buildings made out of that the Fraggles could eat them?

Rowan tree - 2005-07-13 12:25:51
He hee !! I like shoes, hair & cool glasses. Great illo.

breana - 2005-07-13 18:26:19
Wow. I can't keep my hair in a CLIP, let alone spray it into submission and make it stand at attention. Perhaps there is some sort of electric generator tucked in the soles of her shoes? It totally sends signals through her body and up into her hair. I bet if you shook her hand, you would get shocked. I adore/fear Flossy. And I also love the Fraggles. But I'm not afraid of them.

The drawing is wonderful... but your commentary is priceless. Are you a kiddie lit afficianado? If so, just think if THIS woman had lived in The Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. I also wondered, when I first looked at this, where the rubenesque rear had some sort of, um, negative air-pressure thing going and was sucking Flossies hair in that direction. I know. I am very strange.

Ha Dana. I know... there are those lines that sorta radiate between Flossy's Do and the painted lady's arse... it was intended to be striped cloth draped over the painted behind, but I noticed it kind of looked like some kind of vacumn or fart only after I posted it. Oh well... adds to the intrigue. And Rebecca... I'm not completely up on my fraggle lore, but I think it mentions in the Doozer profile that I linked too that the Doozer structures are made up of somekind of vegetable protein derived from turnips or something. Sounds delish, no? And Brianna... I too adore/fear Flossy. But I should point out i wasn't so much a fan of the Fraggles themselves... I was all about Sprocket. He was the floppiest. I remember my attention waning significantly whenever he wasn't on screen. just so you know, my attention still wanes significantly whenever there are not dogs about.

haha i just watched a demo of how to create this hairstyle! so much effort must be given to create it; i would be tired everyday at work just from getting the hair done in the a.m. but you know...sorta like with dreads, hair that's repeatedly fashioned like this probably doesn't need a washing for a while :) anyway, i love your art!

meg - 2005-07-13 23:52:19
I really really love the hair... but the best part of the illo is the gigantic fanny in the background. :)

meg - 2005-07-13 23:53:37
And I think we can all agree that the doozers were the best part of Fraggle Rock (with the possible exception of the Trash Heap, who I LOVED, and her two rat minions).

violetismycolor - 2005-07-14 00:57:02
OMIGOD Wee, that was hystically funny. I love the drawing, absolutely, too. She would be a great character in a children's book. I can just imagine how her hair and other accoutrements could take attention aways from the art (and the cherubs). Can't wait for more!

bluepoppy - 2005-07-14 09:20:40
oh I'm always asking for "The Flossy" when I see my hairdresser--- it's a look that really works for me.

Charlie - 2005-07-14 18:43:08
Love it, great illustration! She reminds me somewhat of the stern book keeper type in Monsters Inc that gave Mike such a hard time for his lack of paperwork..(Roz was it?) then again I watch waaaaaaaaay too many animated films! And Fraggle Rock great stuff, Sprocket was fab!

kerry - 2005-07-15 00:07:31
OMG...you slay me! how hysterical. love the illo and the post...very enjoyable! cheers, kerry

lizardek - 2005-07-15 04:38:31
Glossy Flossy! Hee! Did you know that I have a great-aunt named Flossie? And she was named for her mom's sister. (no, I know, you couldn't have known, but I think of you as so all-knowing, somehow). Missed you, wee!! I'm glad to be back! :)

addie - 2005-07-15 06:44:23
astonishing! i should get to the met more often, i think!

Kimc - 2005-07-15 11:59:44
