How gorgeous. Your lines and curves and flourishes are a buffet for the eyes! I love the seahorses!

Both are gorgeous illustrations! The seahorse one is extra magical in my book. It's absolutely lovely.

Hey wee, Those pieces are so you! Is the fish's face someone you know? Looking forward to your adding color and seeing the end results.

Wee... I just love the flourishes on both your illos. They are both very lovely, but I agree with you that seahorses rock!

WOW!!! Brilliant :D I just love these, they would make great storybook characters. You have wonderful illustration skills. Good stuff!

the seahorse with the lovely flourishes reminds me of a sea dragon, have you heard of them before ? So lucky to have seen them at the Baltimore aquarium once, amazing creature to see live !

I love the fish with a man-face. It's so expressive and it's also really well drawn, and I just like the craziness of a fish with a man face! Reading a book! And drinking coffee! Underwater! With salt and pepper! Also, thanks for your comment on my red buckets. I might actually take you up on your suggestion of a painting that is entirely buckets.

Wow! I love both of these illustrations! I think of all you have illustrated, these are my favorites. I would love to see them completed in color. Especially the fish with glasses. Fab! http://www.designerm.com/blog.html

The scales on that fish really make it - great job and agree that I'd love to see the finished piece (perhaps on the mooted new website).

You are something else! Fabulous concept.

Wee, you have a fabulous imagination. I love your illustrations!

Thank you all so much for your fabulous comments... I'm soaring! Only problem is that now, I don't wanna do all the stuff I have to do... I wanna colour these up! And Paula... nope, this is not the face of someone I know. When I was drawing it, I was thinking about how rarely I doodle men's faces (I do boys all the time, but men? Not so much) and so i came up with this face. He looked bookish to me... like he might work in some dusty bookstore somewhere in New York or at least hang out there. Or maybe he's a professor or a librarian or something. I'm reasonably sure his name is Jerome.

both are beautiful & sweet :)

breana - 2005-05-31 10:25:08
But you could have seaMONKEYS, which are like the poor man's seahorse. I like your illustrations! Do you ever sell them? My mom works in a library and would love the bookfish.
