ooooooh wee! I can't tell you how impressed I am with this. The style is all at once familiar and comforting but has life and breath in it! The details are beautiful, from the wobbly picket fence, right down to the subtle blue of your delicate eggs. It's just lovely and so well done. And the bonus... your eggs look like Cadbury minis. Did some of them model for you? :)

Ha! Meg! no, but (and this is the God's honest truth) I WAS thinking about them when I was speckling them! Mmmmm... chocolatey crunchy little eggs. Yummmmmm-mooooo!

WEE...this is so lovely and thoughtful. You know, I grew up on a dairy farm and we had tons of bird nests in our haybarns. One of my favorite things was to get up high in the haystacks and look into the birds' nest and see the eggs and the baby birds. This is a precious memory for me and you brought it back with this illustration. Thanks for that and thanks for sharing this lovely picture.

Oh, this is so cute. I love the colours (and the dog of course) :)

I like it. It's my favorite so far. What I like is that it adds sweetness to "fragile" and changes it to "handle with care." That just sounds really cheesy, but anyway, I like your picture.

so cute...is this part of a book already? should be. has anyone written a childrens book about how one should treat nature(i.e. not handle eggs w/bare hands etc)? this would tie in beautifully.

Oh this is fabulous! I like the style direction - not that I didn't like anything else you did before. Hope you don't mind, I watch what you do... :) Elle

Your work constantly blows me away. I get so lost in your illustrations (which is a good thing.) Love love love this one.

Both the banner and the Fragile illustration are beautiful! I am so impressed with the coloring in Photoshop too. It looks so un-digital!

working?

karos - 2005-03-20 19:30:30
Lovely soft cuddly quality to that illo. Love the sepia-ish look to it. Glad I can see it today, tried looking on Friday hoping for another picture to show my girlie. I don' t know how "colouring" works in photoshop, but I'm intrigued. I'd never guess it was digi-colour. Thanks for your note, luv!

Oh , isn't that just too fun of an illustration, I love it! It's been a "wee while" since I've been to your blog so I'm probably late in saying the new banner is fantastic.
