Eek. *hands on cheeks aka 'Home Alone'* Army worms?!! What in god's name . .?! I bet they're some kind of mutant offspring of some evil experimental development the US has going on in remote parts of New Mexico, but I digress. I'm so sorry. Bad bunnies, too?! Maybe old Victoria is right and this curse is upon your head for being 'intimate with artists' whooohoo, now that was a funny quote.

You need some more birds. That's what you need. Some good ole Robins and Finches and Wrens and Titmice... have you got any birdfeeders out? A birdbath, perhaps? Attracting birds to birdseed draw them to the vicinity of the worms and other creepy crawlies and they'll gladly hoover them up. As for the bunnies... well, letting Finny out without warning may help, but what you really need is a hawk or an owl. You can attract some owls with nesting boxes, like Barn Owls. Leave it up to the circle of life.

seductive and dangerous :) so true so true. *shudders at the thought of masses of worms* can't you put some net up or fencing or spray your bushes with tabasco sauce or something to keep the ravenous bunnies away?...or or or give them carrots?

What was it, exactly, that Sydney Bristow discovered?

My dear, I am ok, just rolling with the punches. I don't spend as much time online now with Maggie requiring my full attention during her waking hours, and also the tightassness at work. I miss ye, Wee, and often wish I was out on a wolf walk with you, Finn, and my Maggie as I dwindle away my precious creative time in this crappity crap hole. Now, regarding birds... I can understand the West Nile Virus concern, it hasn't been so much a problem around here lately. But I was just listening to a NPR report on it that says it is passed from Mosquitos to Bats and Bats to Pigs and Pigs to Humans and well I guess that means stay away from pigs as well, if you can manage. And bats... I mean you never know, and remember your insect repellent. It sounds like your Army Worms were way too big a job for a flock of seagulls anyway. But having some birds stop in your yard prolly won't hurt. Is it your area in particular that's having problems with West Nile?

holy crap, your garden is totally under seige! wowsers...that is unbelievable. At least you don't have tent cattepillars...those things really freak me out...but those army worms sound awful and very scary. i hope that you have put an end to all of the munchers and crunchers. r
