I don't think I like the word "uxorial" either. I just looked it up on dictionary.com and here's one of the definitions there: uxorial \Ux*o"ri*al\, a. [See Uxorious.] Dotingly fond of, or servilely submissive to, a wife; uxorious; also, becoming a wife; pertaining to a wife. [R.] What an awful word! "servilely submissive to"????? This seems to equate a wife to a slave. No wonder this word is no longer used!

Mel; I think this word"uxorial" will be useful when I play scrabble. It is a word I have tried without knowing to erase from my thought processes for all my married life....I am not submissive (nor synonymous )to uxorial.
