2004-10-09 Thanksgiving

it is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, a holiday we celebrate similarly to but way earlier than the Americans for reasons unfathomable to me. Maybe it's part of a lame effort to convince the rest of the world that we invented it or something and are therefore ever so much more kewl than our neighbours to the South. Not sure.

To celebrate, i give you a wee list, in no particular order of things I am most thankful for: orange hued roses, Dots gumdrops in bright mini boxes, Fall mums, blue skies, the Handsome Guy and the Wolf, but of course, calculators, pencils, clean sheets, The Gilmore Girls, fishnet stockings, blogs and bloggers, Halloween, mangos, strawberries, democracy, bubble baths, raspberries, bats, mascara, books, freckles, trees, mailboxes, family and friends, Lenoard Cohen, Jon Stewart, orchids, lemurs, driftwood, seashells, starfish, acrylic paint, graphite, pillows, Chinese laterns, lobster, the colour green, cashews, red peppers, the undo function on most software, Vespas, charm bracelets, scrolly old handwriting, peonies, tangerines, acorns, birch trees, queen Anne's lace, chocolate cake, stripes, giraffes, puppies and kittens, freshly washed and smiling babies, iPod, pinecones, butterflies, lighhouses, sailboats, rain puddles, hoar frost, snowflakes, blue herons, illustrators everywhere, naptime.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!!!
